Heli safari in the Greater Caucasus Mountains

During the week we will explore the highest part of the Main Caucasus Range from the headwaters of the Kuban River in the West to Upper Balkaria in the East.

With favourable weather conditions we will make 7 — 15 descents per day.

We will fly to the beautiful snow of the Caucasus Mountains on a modern Eurocopter Lama helicopter.

Safety and comfort will be provided by a team of professionals from the Russian Mountain Guides Association.

Gathering of the group in Pyatigorsk, meeting with guides, briefing, getting equipment, overnight in hotel.

2 February

Departure from Pyatigorsk in the morning, skiing in the area of the upper Kuban River to the west of Elbrus — this is one of the best high altitude freeride areas in the Caucasus. Huge choice of slopes with different gradient and relief, glacier skiing, grandiose views of Elbrus. On the same day it is possible to ski on the slopes of Elbrus, Kugutai in the Adyl-su gorge. After skiing we will stop at the hotel ‘Philosophy of Mountains'.

3 February

Departure from the hotel, skiing in the Adyr-Su valley — a fantastic secluded mountain area with the possibility of very interesting high-altitude skiing and delicious steep couloirs. Then a couple of descents in the upper reaches of Chegem valley, after which we will be waiting for the high-mountain pearl of the Caucasus — Bezenghi, where 6 of 8 five-thousanders of the Caucasus are located. For overnight stay we will fly to Upper Balkaria, namely to the secluded hotel Maral, located at an altitude of 2000 metres on the border of the Caucasus reserve.

Riding in the area of Upper Balkaria and Bezenghi, return to the base in Pyatigorsk.
